The tickets are sold out and the hotels are booked. And soon, the soccer fans will be flocking to Germany.

FIFA estimates over a million people from all over the world are planning to come to Germany for the 2006 World Cup. Business, hotel and restaurant owners are looking forward to fan business, and the German police are quietly preparing for the best -- and the worst.

Will the fans be hooligans or mild-mannered soccer moderates? Will they be party animals disturbing the streets until all hours of the morning or families looking to bond in the stands? Will retirees be in the international fan base or will the stands belong to the young?

While no one knows exactly what to expect from the supporters of the World Cup's 32 nations, many of the countries have already sent a delegation of fans to give Germans a taste of what's in store.

DW-WORLD.DE talked to fan group representatives from 10 World Cup participants to find out more about the international guests who will be descending on Germany.
