DW-WORLD.DE: Who is coming to the World Cup 2006 from Togo?

Frank Fiawo: Just those lucky few who happened to get a ticket. I did not get a ticket, unfortunately. And there are also a number of Togolese who have been living in Germany for years. My daughter lives in Munich, for example. She will take part in the celebrations.

How many Togolese will make it?

I’m sure that more than a thousand from Togo, and probably the same number who live here and some who will travel to Germany from France. They are all important in order to support our team. Those who can’t come will celebrate at home in front of the television set -- cheering their team on with all their heart.

How far do you think the Togo national team will get in the tournament?

Of course, we are one of the smaller teams, and it is our first time at a World Cup. Still, I hope that we will make it to the quarter-finals. I am counting on our boys to show Togo and the rest of the world what they are made of.

Which team do you support at home?

My club is from the capital: Etoile Filante Lomé. In the 1960s we were champions five times!
