The winner of the Euromaxx photo contest takes a look behind the scenes

Euromaxx moved into its new studio in June. To celebrate the new location, we asked viewers to send in a picture of themselves in front of a famous landmark in their hometown. The jury was spoiled for choice – thousands of creative, touching or funny photos were sent. In the end a picture sent by Zea Contreras from the Philippines was chosen as the winner. She won a grand prize trip to Berlin and a tour of the Euromaxx studio.

This young woman has been learning German for three years and is especially interested in German history and culture, but she has never been to Berlin. Now the day has finally arrived. With the Euromaxx team joining her, she and her brother visit the Berlin Cathedral, the Berlin Wall and the Brandenburg Gate.

Standing in front of the Brandenburg Gate is especially meaningful for Zea. "The Brandenburg Gate symbolized the division of Germany, but today, it is a symbol of freedom and hope and that is why it’s so important", she says.

The true highlight of Zea’s trip is a tour of the new Euromaxx studio, which is located just around the corner from the Brandenburg Gate. Euromaxx host, Kristina Sterz, gave her and her brother a look behind the scenes. Seeing how the studio works was a great experience for these two Euromaxx fans.

At the end of her tour Zea says, "I can say that today was really a perfect day. I saw so many wonderful things and met so many great people. I definitely have a lot of great experiences from Berlin to take home with me."
