Christian Rickens heads the business desk at Spiegel Online, the online outlet of German weekly news magazine "Der Spiegel". He studied journalism and economics at Munich University and the London School of Economics. As a freelance business journalist, he contributed to several renowned nationwide publications in Germany, such as "Brand Eins", "Die Zeit" and "Süddeutsche Zeitung". From 2000 - 2011 he was a contributing editor at "Manager Magazin", a German-language monthly. For his book "Ganz oben" ("At the very top"), he delved into the world of top-brass managers and business heirs to see what makes the German upper classes tick.
