Spröer, Susanne

Susanne Spröer heads the Culture Background editorial office at DW since 2012. Previously she was a journalist at the Cologne-based German public broadcaster WDR, where she produced many culture and history documentaries, including the award-winning film "Das Mädchen und das Foto" ("The Picture of the Napalm Girl"). She also worked as an author and recently co-wrote a book about Gothic cathedral architecture entitled "Giganten der Gotik. Die Baukunst der Kathedralen" ("Giants of Gothic Architecture - The Craft of Building Cathedrals"). Spröer studied history and journalism and completed her journalism training at WDR.
