Suryan Shankar Dash is an Indian filmmaker, activist and journalist. He
holds a diploma in journalism and communication from the Amity School of
Communication in Noida, India.
Dash has been living in the Indian state of Orissa for the last nine years. In numerous films and videos he has documented the lives of the people in
Orissa and how they have been threatened by major industrial projects.
He is one of the founders of www.videorepublic.tv, an online platform for marginalized journalists and activists who seldom get a voice in mainstream media. The platform often addresses human rights violations.
