Penni Pier is the chair of the Department of Communication Arts at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, in the United States. She has an interest and publication record in political communication and communication education pedagogy. Pier accepted the post at Wartburg College after completing her doctoral work at the University of Missouri.
Her work has been published in several journals, including The Quarterly Journal of Speech, Public Services Quarterly and Communication Quarterly. Additionally, she has contributed to four texts on political communication. Dr. Pier intends to include the impact of emerging technology on social and political discourse to her research agenda.
