Weigand, Florian

Florian Weigand, born in 1966 in Munich, works at DW Akademie in Bonn, Germany, as the Regional Coordinator for Afghanistan and Pakistan. The trained radio and print journalist joined DW Akademie in 2008 after serving as a press officer in ISAF in 2003 (Kunduz, Afghanistan) and then four years as a press advisor in the German Development Services in Kabul. In the 1990s he worked as a parliamentary correspondent in Munich, later as an editor in the political department of the nationwide newspaper Die Welt. Weigand studied mass communications, history and Chinese in Munich and Beijing.
