据美联社报道，中国一个被定性为"邪教"的"华南教会"牧师龚圣亮在狱中突发脑梗塞后，其家人呼吁允许他保外就医。龚圣亮的家人本周前往北京上访，本月初他们前往监狱探望后发表公开信。他们表示，向狱方提出保外就医申请，狱方称不够条件。此前，美国对华援助协会12月14日也在网上发表龚圣亮家人的紧急求助信。对华援助协会写道，前华南教会的领袖龚圣亮及其创办的华南教会，在中国教会范围内一直广受争议，主要是龚圣亮的个人品行问题和龚本人在入狱前的某些教导正统性与否的问题。对华援助协会认为，从人道主义和法律规定犯人应有的合法权益角度出发，湖北省的所在监狱应当提供必要的医疗救护，并立即允许他的两个女儿与父亲见面。龚圣亮于2001年被捕，被判故意伤害和强奸罪须在狱中服刑19年。
