Contrary to the trend in much of Europe, Spain's ruling conservatives suffered losses in local elections last weekend. Among the new winners were members of a left-wing grassroots party that grew out of Spain's Occupy Movement. They won seats in regional governments across Spain and took Barcelona's city hall.
