Who is Fazlun Khalid?

Fazlun Khalid is synonymous with the Eco-Islam movement. He is considered one of the top 15 leading eco-theologians in the world, he made the list of „Top 100 Environmentalists in the UK,“ and he also was counted among the ranks in the „500 Most Influential Muslims in the World.“ In 1994, he founded the Islamic Foundation for Ecology and Environmental Sciences (IFEES) in the UK, an organization that is now considered one of the leading Islamic NGOs of its kind in the world. Before starting IFEES, Khalid served with the Royal Air Force and worked for the British interior ministry. He was born in Sri Lanka in 1932 but has lived in Great Britain for many years.

Islamic philosopher Seyyed Hossein Nasr is considered the father of Eco-Islam. Born in Iran, Nasr studied physics at MIT and completed a PhD in history at Harvard University.
