Trip Journal is an easy to use app with which travelers can track, record, document, and share their holidays with friends and family.

The basic structure of the app is a map. On it users can mark and name or caption the places they visit. Online, these waypoints are automatically given a geotag. Offline, the geographical marker can be set manually. Then you can upload photos and videos from the places visited and add notes to complete your multi-media travel journal.

Apart from waypoints this app also records the route travelled and keeps track of distances and elevation covered. When a trip has been completed the app moves it into the archive. You can run as many projects as you like and you can still add things to them in the archive. Later you can share your trip via email or on various platforms like facebook or picasa.

The app is easy to use and visually pleasing. The route tracker works without any problems and offers a good overview of distances and waypoints in the destination country.

Sadly, the email export function is complicated as you have to first import your contacts. The other downside is that recipients have to install the app on their phones in order to see the photos and videos.

Our conclusion: despite minor hitches, this is an innovative app that allows you recapture the enjoyment of your last holiday.
