Transatlantic Trade - Fear of chlorine-washed poultry

Is the fight against imports of poultry from the US actually about consumer protection? Until now, consumers' fears of importing chlorine-washed American chicken have been a major argument in the debate on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP).

Nutrition experts, however, say propaganda from the German poultry lobby is stoking those fears, and that domestically produced chicken is in no way healthier than chlorine-washed meat from the United States.
