Karin Dietrich can’t manage on her tiny pension and relies on a local food bank to put food on her table. Ute Romanjuk is unemployed and a single parent of five children. She gets social assistance but it’s not enough to feed her family. Like many in Germany, the two women struggle to make ends meet.
