For 12 years now, Liliane und Thijs Spijker have lived in a lighthouse on the island of Marken, Netherlands. A causeway across the bay connects the sleepy island to the mainland, just 45 minutes from Amsterdam. The couple renovated the lighthouse from the ground up, turning it into their dream home.
