The Digital Class Register

April 15, 2014

From forgotten homework to bad grades and truancy, children don’t always tell their parents everything that goes on at school. Working parents find it particularly tough to keep track of their kids’ educational activities, but the digital class register is there to help.

The e-class register is already in use at a high school in the west German town of Telgte, and facilittes communication between teachers, students and parents. Mothers and fathers can follow their children’s classes and other school activities online, and see when they’ve skipped class or failed to do homework. It also makes life easier for teachers, as they can now alert parents with a click of the mouse. At the same time, it means a loss in independence for the youngsters themselves.
