The Crash: Fear in the Midst of Grief

In the midst of the mourning for the victims of the crash, politicians and experts are calling for more checks on pilots and the airlines are rushing to draw their won conclusions. Many proposals almost seem like action for its own sake. Pilots will soon have to undergo regular intensive psychological testing. But will that make flying any safer? And what is the price of striving for an absolute certainty that can never exist in the first place?
