Rats testing for the TB virus

Tuberculosis, kills more than 1,7 million people every year, many of them in Subsaharan Africa. Testing for the microbacteria causing the disease is both time-consuming and costly. And in many poor clinics, outdated technology does not always give accurate results. An NGO is using trained rats to detect TB. They are much faster and more accurate than many lab tests.
