Syria's conflict has driven more than a million refugees out of the country. Included among these are many journalists, some of whom have established themselves in exile and are continuing to report on the situation in their home country.

For example, Baladna FM works out of Jordan, while Radio Ana is based in Cairo, Egypt. DW correspondent Natalie Carney talked to Syrian journalists in Istanbul, Turkey, about their project, Sout Raya, or "Sound of the Flag."
