How would you like to be paid for eight hours a day yet only work for six? A decision to reduce working hours to six hours a day has split politicians there. The council leadership believes a shorter working week will improve efficiency and reduce staff sickness, and will begin a trial next year. But opponents fear it will shortchange taxpayers. Malcolm Brabant reports.
