Wimbledon: Lisicki tops Williams

Germany's Sabine Lisicki has eliminated defending champion Serena Williams from Wimbledon in the fourth round. Lisicki is a win away from the semifinals.

Lisicki, ranked 23rd in the world, beat Williams 6-2, 1-6, 6-4 to end top-seed Americans' 34-match winning streak and deny her a chance at her sixth title at Wimbledon.

The German now faces Estonian Kaia Kanepi in the round of eight.

In the final set, Williams, was up a break twice but Lisicki was able to bring the momentum back in her favor and went up again 5-4. She was able to convert her second match point.

On the men's side, German veteran Tommy Haas failed to get past top-ranked Novak Djokovic for a spot in the final eight. Djokovic won 6-1, 6-4, 7-6(4).

Great Britain's Andy Murray also beat Mikhail Youzhny of Russia for a spot in the quarterfinals.
