Do you chat with friends in the USA? Have you a profile on a so-called social network? Do you use the web to do research for your homework? In many parts of Africa, poor internet access makes all this still a little difficult. But the continent is catching up fast.

New Media provides numerous chances to improve our lives – and especially mobile phones have made communication much easier. But the new communication technology also comes with its downsides.

Reason enough for Learning by Ear to shed some light on the mysteries of the new technology. A radio drama tells the story of a group of brave entrepreneurs who choose to venture into the New Media business. Hear all about their troubles when they decide to open an internet cafe.

Learning by Ear is available in six languages: English, Kiswahili, French, Hausa, Portuguese and Amharic. It is supported by Germany’s Federal Foreign Office.
