Spring Comes to Germany

March 6, 2015

Weather forecasters have promised blue skies, sunshine and mild weather for the coming week-end. An area of high pressure will gradually drive away the clouds and the south and west can look forward to lots of sunshine.

Sunday will be the highlight of the week-end with sunny weather throughout Germany. Temperatures will range from 10 to 15 degrees Celsius. Aachen and the surrounding region might even see the mercury rise to 20 degrees Celsius. Experts advise using sunblockers in the coming days because it is easy to get sunburned after the long winter.

People heading for the slopes need to be aware of an increased risk of avalanches due to the sunny weather. A warning has already been issued for the Alps in the Allgäu region and the Bavarian Alps in general for altitudes of 1600 meters and above.
