In almost every corner of Africa, you will find youngsters glued to a radio or TV set, watching the latest football matches. The soccer fields across the continent are covered with young enthusiastic players sporting the jerseys of their Barcelona or Manchester United heroes. With the first ever soccer World Cup on African soil just around the corner, Africa is without a doubt, gripped by soccer mania.
All over Africa, people look up to their football heroes around the world and think: If Drogba, Eto'o and Essien have made it, why couldn't I?
Chedede, Jonathan and Safina, the young protagonists of our radio drama, come from different social backgrounds, but they all share the same ambitious dream: to become the best soccer players in the world.
