When former Yugoslavia broke up, Croatian depositors lost some 278 million euros in the liquidation of Slovenia-based Ljubljanska Banka. Croats want compensation, but Slovenia says its not responsible and has even threatened to block Croatia’s entry to the EU over the issue.
