Vettel wins in Malaysia

Sebastian Vettel has won his first Grand Prix with his new team, Ferrari, at the Malaysian Grand Prix on Sunday. It was his fourth career F1 win at the Malaysian track.

The German driver came in first in hot and humid conditions in Sepang, ahead of Mercedes pair Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg, in second and third respectively.

Late in the race Hamilton complained about the choice of tires and was confused about "miscommunication" suggesting a fourth pit stop.

Vettel's win takes him to second in the drivers' championship after two races, three points behind Hamilton. German driver Nico Rosberg is now a further seven points back.

'Ferrari is back'

Ferrari boss Maurizio Arrivabene was heard to say "Ferrari is back, Ferrari is back" over the team radio after Vettel crossed the line. It is the first race victory for the famous Italian F1 team in nearly two years.

For Vettel himself it is a return to form too, and he was briefly in tears after the race. His last race victory came in Abu Dhabi at the end of 2013.

"It's been a long time since I stood at the top of a podium," he said after the race. "Last year was very difficult for me. But, so far, things are coming together."

Further back in the field, there were also celebrations for Max Verstappen as well. The 17-year-old finished in seventh, becoming the youngest points-scorer in F1 history.
