Some people think they're something special.

"That's not good enough for me!" is something a Schnöselwould typically say. A Schnösel is an educated and fine young man. He thinks that he's something very special and doesn't always treat others with the respect they deserve.

Sometimes a Schnösel comes from a family where a high value is placed on material possessions and money. Whether it is a car, clothing or a house, for a Schnösel everything must be of the finest quality.

But the origins of the word itself are not so fine. Schnösel comes from Schnodder, meaning snot. A Schnoddrige person is not that different from a Schnösel - just as we use the word "snotty" to describe such people in English. If you happen to have the misfortune of falling in love with a Schnösel, you can expect to hear the words, "You're not good enough for me!"
