Saving energy as hydrogen

September 15, 2014

Renewable energies don’t always provide power at consistent rates. Wind energy, for example, produces greater or smaller quantities of power depending on the strength of the wind.

Sometimes that means producing more than the power grid can absorb, so experts have developed a way of storing that surplus. They use it to create hydrogen gas, which according to current plans would be fed into the natural gas network. Scientists hope that very soon, the process could help save energy.
