Drawn by low prices and flexible regulations, large land investors are flooding into Romania. Recently, there's been growing interest among German and Austrian businessmen who, in deals facilitated by corrupt local officials, are renting large areas of communal land to start bison farms and it's local shepherds are paying the price and losing their land.
