In ’The Traffic’, the road traffic and the city's diverse background noise stand for its exuberant dynamism," says Dr. Gero Schliess, Head of Program Projects, Promotions, Partnerships at DW.The Turkish National Youth Philharmonic Orchestra was formed in 2006. The musicians, aged between 16 and 22, study at the renowned music conservatories of Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Bursa, Edirne, Eskisehir, Izmir, Istanbul and Mersin.

Deutsche Welle has this year awarded a composition commission for the twelfth time.  The commissions are given to young composers of a partner country selected for the Orchestra Campus by Deutsche Welle and Beethovenfest Bonn. Eleven youth orchestras from DW target regions have been guests in Bonn since 2000. The partner countries were China, Georgia, Turkey, Poland, Ukraine, South Africa, Egypt, Russia, Vietnam, Brazil and Iraq.

As the official media partner to the Beethovenfest Bonn, DW makes it a worldwide event at DW.DE/BEETHOVEN with audio in German, Turkish, English and other languages, and TV coverage in German, English, Arabic and Spanish.
