To many Germans, the Scorpions' 1991 hit single "Wind of Change" takes them right back to the immediate post-reunification years. It was written by the band's frontman Klaus Meine. Although he’s West German, Scorpions were hugely popular in communist East Germany, not least thanks their appearance at the Moscow Music Peace Festival in ’89.
