Portugal: Horses for Courses

November 26, 2014

Lusitanos used to be delicate creatures, but today breeding farms are producing taller, more internationally competitive horses with bigger gaits. An increasing number of horses that fail to make the grade are abandoned, since their upkeep is costly, and some Lusitanos are even ending up in the slaughterhouse.
