Participation and the global development agenda

Wednesday, July 2, 2014, 12.30 p.m., Room D

Hosted by: United Nations Organizations in Bonn

United Nations (UN) organizations in Bonn will host a plenary session on civil society participation and ways in which people from all over the world can engage with the UN, and with each other, to shape the global development agenda.

In line with the overall conference theme, the plenary discussion will engage the audience and give concrete examples of what the UN is doing to boost the opportunities for individuals and media to have a say in global debates, including through new forms of participation such as online campaigns, apps and social media tools - one example being the issue of what should come after the Millennium Development Goals in 2015.

The panel will consist of a mix of staff members representing the UN across all levels.
