Out now: Read about DW Akademie's activities around the world

"Seizing opportunities: For free and independent media worldwide" is DW Akademie's report presenting Akademie projects and the organizations strategic approach.

A free and fair media plays an important role in any society, but at times of political upheaval, it is especially crucial. However, media freedom in many countries is limited or in danger of being curtailed. This is why DW Akademie actively supports freedom of expression and access to information around the world. DW Akademie is Germany's leading organization for international media development and Deutsche Welle's center of excellence for education, knowledge transfer and media training.

In this new publication, we present information about the breadth and depth of our international engagement. For example, you can read about the creation of a new journalism training center in Myanmar or our efforts to support media reforms in North Africa.

In addition, you can learn more about digital security for journalists, the opportunities presented by e-learning, and what makes DW Akademie's master's degree program in international media studies unique.
