When Anne Julia Hagen, the current Miss Germany, is not occupied with her official tasks she studies cultural sciences or works as a model. Anne Julia Hagen was chosen from 6500 candidates as Miss Germany on the 13th of February 2010. During her one year in office she will have to attend 300 official engagements, at gala events, radio or TV shows and sponsorship functions. The 20 year old student is used to putting on a smile. She's been modeling since she was 15. Anne Julia Hagen has appeared on cover photographs of magazines and catalogues, appeared in advertisements for make up or shampoo. She also has experience on the catwalk, although at one meter seventy four centimeters she is considered too small for a career there.

Anne Julia Hagen was born in Berlin in 1990. She belongs to the first generation of Germans born after reunification. She has taken a break from university during her reign as Miss Germany, but she wants to continue with her studies later. At the same time she is continuing her modeling and media career, and the Miss Germany title should prove helpful there. She does not have much spare time, but she likes writing poetry. Her favorite poet is Goethe, and she is particularly fascinated by his piece "Der Erlkönig"
