Nigeria is the biggest oil producer in Africa. Yet more than 100 million of its 170 million citizens live without basic electricity. Some see wind, solar power and other renewable energies as key to reducing poverty, promoting equality and ensuring environmental sustainability. The Niger Delta is the source of the country's oil, but even here most people struggle with access to electricity.
