New investigations
April 21, 2015Dortmund's state prosecutor's office has confirmed it has started new investigations into German national team player Marco Reus, for further cases of driving without a valid license. This, after the 25-year-old Dortmund star was fined 540,000 euros in December of last year for driving illegally on six separate occasions.
According to Barbara Vogelsang, a spokesperson for the office, members of the public have now come forward, saying that they saw the BVB player driving at other times. These days are spread over a number of years apparently.
Investigations into the new breaches have been running since December, Vogelsang confirmed on Tuesday. Local media had reported on the new investigations over the last few days.
Despite the controversy, Reus has managed to maintain the support of Borussia Dortmund's management. He recently signed a new contract with the club, taking him through to 2019.
