Matchday 13 predictions
We've gone for it: DW reporter Thomas Klein has given his predictions for this weekend's Bundesliga games. But will he - or returning coach Huub Stevens - have success on Matchday 13?
The return of Stevens
VfB Stuttgart are in a crisis. Armin Veh stepped down after the defeat to Augsburg and now it's time for Huub Stevens to once again try to steady Stuttgart's ship. The away game in Freiburg on Friday should see the Dutchman celebrate a successful start. Our prediction: 1-0 to Stuttgart.
Bayern stay undefeatd
After the game in Manchester this week in the Champions League, those in Bayern circles spoke of "an educational defeat." The record-breaking German champions tend to learn quickly, and that will be clear by displaying a comfortable performance in Berlin. No chance for Hertha. Prediction: 4-0 to Bayern.
Skripnik's good start set to continue
The defeat to Hamburg still hurts, but against Paderborn Victor Skripnik will once again taste the sweet nectars of victory. A physical game will be decided by a late goal from the men in green. Our prediction: 1-0 to Bremen.
Sweet, sweet revenge
The last derby against Cologne was one that Leverkusen still haven't forgotten. Three years ago, when Cologne was last in the top flight, Leverkusen lost 4-1. Cologne are always good for a surprise away from home, but in Leverkusen they won't be good enough. Leverkusen should win comfortably. Prediction: 3-0 to Leverkusen.
Redemption for the blues
Schalke had one of their worst nights in the Champions League this week against Chelsea. In the Bundesliga, Roberto Di Matteo's team are undefeated at home and that record will continue to stand against Mainz this weekend, thanks to a bit of good luck. Prediction: 2-1 to Schalke.
Augsburg march on
Augsburg are in good form at the moment. Against Hamburg, Markus Weinzierl's team should win their third in a row and seal a spot in the top half of the table. Hamburg, on the other hand, will be disappointing again. It will be their seventh loss of the season. Our prediction: 3-1 to Augsburg.
Hoffenheim break poor run of form
Hoffenheim have suffered three defeats in a row. The good start to the season has been forgotten as the club return to Bundesliga reality. Against Hannover though, Markus Gisdol's men will return to winning ways. Our prediciton: 2-1 to Hoffenheim.
Bundesliga's second best face off
"Bayern chaser" is not a term Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking is fond of. His side, second in the table, will enjoy an entertaining game on Sunday against third-placed Borussia Mönchengladbach, but the Foals will be up to the task. Prediction: 1-1.
Dortmund looking for relief
"We have some work to do" said Borussia Dortmund's Kevin Grosskreutz after the club's defeat to Arsenal during the week. The trip to Eintracht Frankfurt comes at exactly the right time. Thomas Schaaf's men will have no chance against a born-again Dortmund team. Our prediction: 3-1 to Dortmund.
