Current number two Hansi Flick will take up a new role within the German FA in the summer. Löw has decided not to make any new official appointments before the start of the World Cup in June.

Joachim Löw has revealed he will only look for a successor to Hans-Dieter Flick after the World Cup. The current Germany assistant coach will move upstairs to replace Robin Dutt as the DFB's Sporting Director.

"I won't be giving a decision before the World Cup," Löw said in an interview with DPA. "Actually, I've not yet made my mind up. I've still to lead a few conversations and make some considerations. But I have realized the realities and workdays get to me."

Flick has been an assistant to Löw since 2006 and has helped Germany qualify for the 2008 and 2012 European Championships, as well as, the 2010 and 2014 World Cup. The post has been vacant at the DFB since Dutt succeeded Thomas Schaaf as Werder Bremen head coach at the end of last season. It was formerly held by Bayern Munich's Matthias Sammer, but under the guise of the “technical director” title.

Germany still have one warm-up match to play on May 13 against Poland in Mainz before the World Cup. The final squad for Brazil will be named five days before the match against Poland. Löw watched his experimental group stutter to a 1-0 against Chile, which proved to be a stern test for some of the players who will eventually be named in his 25-man squad.

"We are actually in contact with the players every week and also with the club coaches from time-to-time," Löw added. "We'll carefully observe the final stages of Champions League, and as always follow the three or four people who play in the Bundesliga.

"Urs Siegenthaler, Hansi Flick, Andi Köpke and I will be traveling a lot."
