Meet Joe Powers, the tango harmonicist

American Joe Powers received his first harmonica as a Christmas gift when he was a toddler growing up in Portland, Oregon.

He began tango dancing as a student, but it wasn't until a musical encounter in Buenos Aires that he realized he could combine his passions.

Now 36, Powers has toured the world with his music and won numerous awards in classical and jazz competitions.Powers has performed with a diverse mix of musicians, from a traditional Japanese koto group to 10 grand pianos at once.

His passion is challenging people's expectations about what the harmonica can do. He says he never leaves the house without one in his pocket.
