The European Union is complicated – and it can seem impenetrable to outsiders. But in the past few years, the EU has taken a number of active steps to improve openness and transparency. And they’re starting by tackling the problem of jargon-heavy language. Our correspondent, Joanna Impey, has been trying to find her way through the maze of institutions.
