China landslide drama

Floods triggered by heavy rain have swept away houses and bridges in rural areas of southwest China's Sichuan Province. Several people are still missing.

The heavy floods hit Shifang county on Monday. Amateur footage of collapsing bridges and houses was shown on state television CCTV.

The Xinhua news agency has reported over a dozen people missing in the city of Jiangyou as rescue workers are struggling to determine the fallout of a bridge collapsing into a swollen river.
