Kick off! - Special: German Football Ambassador 2015

Who will be the German Football Ambassador 2015? For the third time a noteworthy German coach or player will be chosen. Kick Off! Presents the candidates who may not all be on the world stage, but play very important roles behind the scenes around the world in the hopes that they can improve players’ lives.

Michael Nees is coach of Israel’s Under-21 team since 2013 and is also Technical Director of the Israeli Football Federation. He’s been coaching around the world the past 15 years. He’s been involved in development projects in Africa, and has been national team coach of the Seychelles and Rwanda.

Eckhard Krautzun has coached numerous Bundesliga teams, including Kaiserslautern, Freiburg and Wolfsburg. Back in 1970 he was already national team coach of Kenya. Following that were stints in Canada, Japan and Malaysia. But his biggest success was in Tunisia whom he led to qualifying for the 2002 World Cup. This time we catch up with Krautzun in China where he worked from 2002 till 2007.

Jürgen Klinsmann is a World Cup winner from 1990. He’s one of German football’s biggest names, having played his club football for Inter Milan, Monaco, Tottenham Hotspur and Sampdoria. As coach he also led Germany to third place at the World Cup in 2006 on home soil. Since 2011 he’s coach of the U.S. National team, turning it into a top team. We meet up with him during team training camp in Los Angeles
