I was born in 1975 in Salzgitter in Lower Saxony. I studied history, media and French literature in Paderborn before settling in Berlin.

In my free time, I enjoy rock music – I even played drums myself for four years! I also love theater and cinema, as well as visiting new cafes and cooking new recipes. Reading is one of my favorite pastimes, and Paul Auster and Haruki Murakami are among my favorite authors. One passion, which some might call a vice, is my obsession with handbags!

I also love sleeping in my VW bus. I am very passionate about travel, and I drove my bus across much of Germany. While I want to explore cultures and cities outside Germany, I also believe that it’s important to get to know your own country first. I really love the cities in northern Germany – Hamburg and Rostock, as well as smaller Baltic pearls like Laboe. I like to relax in Baltrum and ski in Bavaria. I would like to get to know the east of the country better; I’m already quite familiar with the west because the former industrial heartland, the Ruhr region, is right at my doorstep – complete with delicious currywurst! If only I weren’t a vegetarian.
