The European Union has announced it will expand its border patrol program known as Frontex to respond to the growing numbers of migrants attempting the dangerous crossing from North Africa to Italy and other southern European countries. The decision comes almost a year after Italy launched a costly naval operation dubbed “Mare Nostrum” - Our Sea - to rescue the migrants. Megan Williams has more.
