Yearning for Koh Samui
Charlotte and Marcus want to get away from the German winter. The couple from Saarbrücken spent their first holidays in Koh Samui some 20 years ago. Now they’ve retired and are spending their second winter in Thailand’s tropical paradise. Over the years they’ve seen how the island in the Gulf of Thailand has changed: once a haven for hippies it has turned into a tourist stronghold for package holidaymakers. Nevertheless, behind the scenes, the islanders have held on to their old culture.
