For two years now, Europe has viewed German Chancellor Angela Merkel with a mixture of respect and trepidation. Can she save the euro? What about allegations that she is killing the currency? Or is she one of the few leaders who actually have come to understand the euro crisis?Merkel represents the economically strongest and therefore the most powerful country in Europe.
