Improving sanitation in Kenya

2.5 million people in Nairobi and the hub of East Africa live in slums. Most do not have access to proper sanitation facilities so many are forced to defecate in dirty pit latrines or in the open. These sanitation options are not only undignified, but can cause serious health consequences and significant environmental damage. Now, however, some people have come up with a possible alternative.
