Five years ago, Erik & Me was one of the first bands to take part in Pop Camp, a training ground for up-and-coming musicians sponsored by the German Music Council. They often heard from teachers, "Stay the way you are; you're doing everything pretty much the way it should be."

And that's more or less what they've done, making catchy guitar rock ever since - at first in English, but the group has since decided German lyrics sound better.

Erik & Me play between 40 and 50 concerts a year, and have a steadily growing fan community. Yet fame and glory do not necessarily translate into wealth and riches. At least for now, all of the musicians in Erik & Me have day jobs - whether as graphic designers or as guitar teachers.

Their second and most recent album is titled "Versteck" (English: "Hiding Place").
