Food safety in China

China has been rocked by scores of food safety incidents in recent years. According to the China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment, two hundred million get sick from bacterial contamination of food in China every year. The fear of toxic food has led to the emergence of a Chinese ‘foodie scene’ and growth in the consumption of organic groceries.
